Your Pet's Rescue StoryWe rescued Max at the local shelter in Ojai California in February 2002. Max was very shy at first but slowly he came to us. At that time my oldest son was 10 and my little one was 1.5 years old. Max was only a few months old but no doubt, it was love at first sight. He learned to go potty outside, to chase birds and eat all the flowers in about a week. Max slowly developed the most unique underbite and that always made him the talk at the park. His underbite sometimes made him look mean what a joke, he was the sweetest of all dogs. Max moved with us to Florida in 2005 and although he was not excited about the humidity, he quickly adjusted to the sunshine state. Through the years together almost 16, Max played many different roles in our family, He was a babysitter, family counselor, financial consultant(at least the listening part), housekeeper (as he always cleaned up the floors from any food drops), psychologist and shoulder to cry when my oldest son when to college (I know he was crying too). He was also bilingual thanks to grandma, you could said "vamos" or "let's go" and he was already at the front door. He loved pizza and wine (small sips of course). He never learned to catch a ball however, he always managed to catch a piece of chicken in the kitchen. He hated the rain, little diva hate getting his paws wet. Max saw my children grow, he loved them both so much. He witness my little one become a teenager and my older became a man. He saw me struggling and also succeed. He always welcome everybody into our home. His soul was so incredibly humble and his eyes full of joy. . I firmly believed that he was the one who rescued us with his unconditional love and the kindness of his almost human soul. Max died on 7/08/17 of stomach cancer. He got sick and in matter of days he was gone. Our home has never felt so empty like that night. This entry is to honor his memory and the amazing life that we enjoyed together. We love you and miss you every single day Max..
