Your Pet's Rescue Story
To truly appreciate this photo, or any other of our sweet girl, you would have to see 'before' photos as well. Our Emmy was abandoned by her first owners inside a cage with a wire bottom, with no food or water, under a tree in the middle of the Florida elements outside of St. Cloud. A wonderful rescue group found her there, barking for her life.
At less than a year old, her 'family' decided she was a throwaway. She had never been groomed, and had to be sedated in order to shave the 1.5 lbs of matting off her tiny frame. When she was all cleaned up, Florida Little Dog Rescue took her to NYC for a makeover segment on The View, and upon seeing her photos and learning her story, I knew she was the perfect addition to our home.
To this day she still shows signs of trauma including food aggression and toy guarding, but we cannot imagine our lives without her. Her personality has blossomed since coming to her furever home, and she is the funniest, most loving and loyal animal we have ever had the pleasure to care for.
Pet rescue is so important; she is one of two rescue dogs in our family and they truly are the joy of our world! Please vote for Emmy!
