Your Pet's Rescue Story
About three years ago Chicken was born under our house, along with a sister. We planned to bring them to Pet Alliance to be spayed and then adopted out (I had been there previously with Disney Voluntears). Well, before that happened both she and her sister got pregnant. Our plan to reduce the number of strays in our neighborhood was seriously derailed and going in the wrong direction. Another stray then had a litter under the house. I began thinking that our house was getting some type of reputation among the cats of the neighborhood, and I didn't think it was a good one. But, we fed and took care of all of them (a dozen and a half at one time!) and did eventually get them all to Pet Alliance to be spayed/neutered and adopted except for several that we found responsible homes for ourselves. We kept Chicken and one of her daughters. In the end, after lots and lots of kitten food and time working and playing with them all to make them as comfortable around people as possible, we did eliminate all strays from our neighborhood without them being lost.
