Your Pet's Rescue Story
This handsome silly boy was rescued and adopted about two years ago from the Pet Alliance. He was shaking, covered in fleas, and frightened of this unknown place he was brought to. As soon as my boyfriend and I walked in, we saw his beautiful blue eyes and knew we had to take him home immediately. We sure are glad we did because he is such a character! He loves making silly faces and oftentimes is a bit of a show off (as seen in this picture). Zeus was there for me when my other fur baby passed away unexpectedly. The pain I felt during this time was like no other sadness I've ever experienced, but Zeus was there to snuggle with me every night and gave me head nudges as the tears fell down my face. He was not only a best friend, but a younger brother to my Casper who had just passed away. I could sense the sadness that overcame Zeus during this time as he would look for Casper in her usual hangout spots, looking for his play buddy. In fact, the night Casper was rushed to the pet emergency room and passed away, my boyfriend and I returned back home and noticed that Zeus slept by the front door the entire night as if waiting for her return. This was unusual behavior as he typically likes to sleep above my head every night. During many sleepless nights, I held him close as I felt he was the closest connection I had to my new guardian angel who had just made her way over the rainbow bridge. I truly believe we helped each other get past one of the most difficult times in both of our lives. I am not sure how I would have coped with this loss without the company and love he gave me throughout this very emotional time. Though my boyfriend and I rescued Zeus and provided him a loving home, he rescued us both in return.
This picture was taken while he was cleaning himself with this hilarious photo as a result. Believe me, Zeus has been told to have manners and that this type of behavior is considered impolite in the hooman world. Should this photo win and end up on a wine bottle label, I can already hear him in his kitty voice saying "mom this is so embarrassing!"
