Your Pet's Rescue Story
I frantically drove to Pet Alliance on a Saturday morning after seeing a little, brown male Chihuahua, with huge brown eyes, for adoption. He stood proudly, with his hands on the cage, begging for my attention. He licked my hands.

There was some confusion about his availability. I stood there frozen, in disbelief, refusing to leave. After what seemed like an eternity, he WAS available! The volunteer took us to the area to get acquainted. He immediately jumped on my lap and began to kiss my face. I couldn't get the words out fast enough. "I will take him"!

His name was "Tank", and he had just been neutered, had dental surgery, a chip, and a load of shots. He couldn't have felt great, but it did not stop his charm. I fell in love at that moment.

As we drove home he sat in the crate, looking optimistic, but a little apprehensive. His previous owner brought him in to be put to sleep. Thank God Pet Alliance saved him. He did have an odor, and I am sure he also had bad breath before his bad teeth were removed.

This was the last time he has ever spent confined to a cage. He sleeps in a king sized bed every night beside me, along with his two other Chi "brothers". He likes shoulder massages before bedtime, and he likes a treat before he goes to sleep. I carry him like a baby to bed every night. In the several months that I have had him, he has gained a little over two pounds. His backbone is no longer visible. His skin issue was dandruff, and that is gone. He is now shiny and happy. I cook food morning and night for my dogs. He is walked daily. He kisses me anytime he can and I swear he says "thank you" every day. I do not think he has forgotten his past. He is the most appreciative and affectionate dog I have ever had in my life. I don't think he ever had much to call his own, except a cage. He now owns me~!

His name is now Alan. I truly believe God put us together, as He knew we both needed each other. He has brought more joy to my life than imaginable. He came at just the perfect time. Each morning when I wake up, he greets me with so many kisses I can't help to be happy and thankful for this special gift in my life.

I won't ever forget as someone once told me, "Dog spelled backwards is God". Coincidence? I think not.

Alan is named after a friend, Linda Allen, who passed this spring due to cancer.
She also had a little brown, male Chihuahua who was her best friend.
