Your Pet's Rescue Story
I suffer from PTSD and I was told having a dog or even a cat can help calm me. I decided to adopt at Pet Alliance. I wanted to be a bestfriend to a dog who needed a home. Nala was a blessing in disguise. I remember going to look at many dogs, and she had this sadness in her eyes when I watched from across the way. Something told me to go to her. I let her smell me and she instantly rubbed her side on my legs and whimpered. My favorite thing was her ears, and I rubbed them and she laid on me at intake. We had an instant bond. I took her home later that afternoon.

I have 5 little girls and she is like a mother to them. Very loving. She enjoys many tea parties, and has even been Sheriff Woody wearing her hat as she role plays with the girls.

I was in a car accident later that year, in November 2015 and I never knew the loving a dog can share til I was crippled with my injuries. She laid with me through it all at home. After the surgery, through everything. I can't get out of bed and she comes to my bedside and sits and I pet her and Nala kept bringing her nose up repeatedly. I didn't know why till one day she moved her neck and collar by my hand. I grabbed it and said what is it baby. And she started to walk forward and it was helping me out of bed. She was helping me. Now I use a cane and she goes with me everywhere. She knows when I need help getting up, and tries to help. It amazes me how much dogs know about their human family. She never had training, yet she knew what to do.

In the picture I submitted we were waiting at the bus stop waiting on my 5 daughters to come home. She was so serious and was actually whimpering when she saw her girls. Watching her babies so intently as parents met with their children. As soon as the girls came in the car she showed them so much love. A lot of people see pitbulls and they say bad things. Nala is not or never has been aggressive. She's the most loving, big baby ever.

I adopted her May 28th,2015, when she was 4 years old. She is now 7 years old and if angels exists, I know she is one. She is our pride and joy, not a dog in our eyes, but a member of our family, our everything. I never knew that day at Pet Alliance how much she would change my life, or our families life, as I thought I would be changing her life. Everyone that meets her falls in love with her. I am happy I decided to adopt. She changed my world and I wouldn't change it for anything.
