Your Pet's Rescue Story
My 21 year old cat Trinny passed away in January of 2015 from cancer. She had been with us her entire life (and mine) and losing her within 2 months of diagnosis was heartbreaking for us. It felt like a part of us was gone, the house felt so empty.

In August of that same year I went with my mom for a trip to the shelter to look at the cats as we heard they were over capacity. Mom was a little on edge about getting a new cat as the pain was still too much. We looked and look and then we saw a little 2 month of tuxedo hiding behind her litter box. She was so little, shy and shaking from the nerves but when we grabbed her, she fell asleep in our arms. No sound would wake her up. We were told we could wait and play with her on a room to see if she would be a good match for us but to be honest, the moment we held her we knew she was ours. I think we waited no more than 2 minutes and we told the girl in the shelter we didn't need to look anymore. We didn't need to play with her, we didn't need more time. All we needed was to sign the papers and take her home.

At home dad was painting in the patio and was not expecting us to come home with a new cat. I went and knocked on the window and when he looked my way, I showed her to him. He dropped everything, ran inside and started giving her kisses. The rest as they say, is history.

She's now 2 years old and is the light of our lives. She is so loving and grateful to us, every day. She sleeps with a mouse that used to be Trinny's and leaves that mouse as a 'gift' to us every morning by our beds. She doesn't meow often, but when she does it's usually to that toy as she plays around with it and loves on it. She runs to the door to welcome us every day and to welcome any guest that comes visit. Wherever we are in the house, if there's a party or not, she is right there with everyone.

She saved us more than we saved her!
