Your Pet's Rescue Story
I had recently signed up to foster dogs for Happy Trails Animal Rescue because I didnt know if I were able to commit to a lifetime pet just yet. A friend of mine shared a post by the SPCA about a dog that has been in a shelter for over 850 days, or basically his entire life. He was so stinkin cute and his story was heart tugging. No dog should have to spend 3 of his 3.5 years in a shelter.
After viewing his story from News 13 Chris and I both felt the pull. We didnt even second guess it, we contacted the Brevard SPCA to meet him asap. Due to work schedules I had to go alone to meet him. The next thing I knew I was leaving there with the newest member of our family.
We are still baffled a dog like Dots had not found his forever home in three years. He has become an such an important part of our family in very little time. He already has his place in our home, he is right by our side in the car, and he more than keeps up with us on the trails. I could go on forever about his unique personality. That goofy smile of his could cheer anyone up. He has also unintentionally become a therapy dog for Chris which is a blessing on its own. Those two are more than partners in crime. I don’t know who rescued who but it makes no difference as long as we have him.
