Your Pet's Rescue Story
Perhaps unlike several stories, Spencer's rescue story is about rescuing his "person." After college, I found myself focused on my career and whether my college relationship was the real deal. The greatest gift my college relationship gave me was Spencer, and for that, I'm forever grateful for that relationship. Soon after Spencer came into my life my college relationship had ended and I started going through the ups and downs of dating. Spencer rescuing me isn't just about him being there during the trials of dating and relationships, but more about the night he saved my life. I do not wish to go into the details, but I was attacked in my home and in need of life-saving help. Spencer went out his doggie door, through the hole in my fence and alerted my neighbor to call 911.

In the months following, I ultimately made the decision to take my firm up on an offer to relocate. Spencer was by my side in a new city helping me feel safe and make new friends. Spencer was there when I did meet my true love and welcomed home our first daughter. He became an instant big brother. Eventually, baby sister No. 2 came along for Spencer and he was the center of their world and our family. Always calm, Spencer would be a pillow for the girls during storms or fireworks. He would always greet us when we came through the door. We lost Spencer suddenly on June 4, 2018. If it wasn't for Spencer, I may never have become a wife, a mother or grown in my career. I am forever grateful Spencer was my first pet, fur-baby and my hero. Rest in Peace Old Man River, mama misses you deeply.
