Your Pet's Rescue Story
This is Rico. I adopted him a little over 2 years ago from the Pet Alliance. He was 9 years old when I adopted him. He came into our world at a crazy time. Two months after getting him my fiance was diagnosed with Stage 2 Small Intestine Cancer. Before the diagnosis my fiance got me a ESA certification for Rico. Which they say everything happens for a reason. My fiance was in the hospital for over a month going through surgeries and trying to figure out what was going on. So with that, I was able to bring Rico to the hospital to visit with his dad. It was so uplifting for my fiance that Rico could be there with him cause he truly was a mans best friend. After the hospital life got crazy with 7 months of chemo treatments but Rico was there for my fiance every step of the way. He never left his side and would run to him and give him love right when he would see him. He could even sense he was coming home and would wait at the door for him. And was a blessing to have him. He even got a tattoo of Rico. He truly loved that dog with all that he had. Fast foward to September 2018 we found out the cancer metastasized to his liver and it was happening fast. Then on January 17th of this year my fiance passed away at 35 years old. It's been a very hard time but, now Rico has become my doggie soul mate and my best friend. He has helped me so much with all the pain I have been dealing with and when he looks up at me I just smile and give him a loving hug. Thank you Pet Alliance for all you do for these amazing doggies.
