Your Pet's Rescue Story
My husband and I drove 3 hours to rescue a puppy after seeing his little 10 week old face online and just knew. When we got to the shelter to meet him, his cute face was patchy from mange. He came right to me and kissed my hand. I was a goner. In the crate behind him, was a beautiful one year old brindle boxer, growling low at me, wearing a cone and her tail wrapped in a hot pink bandage. She had chewed an inch and a half of her tail and they had to dock it another 2 inches. Her ears were frayed and scabbed. She had tape worm and hook worm. (Later we found out she was also heart worm positive) She had the saddest eyes filled with fear and anxiety. While we only intended to adopt one puppy that day we just knew in an instant that she needed us. So we adopted two dogs the same day and in an instant our home was filled with so much love, energy, barking and pee...lots of pee. We thought we were helping one mangy mutt (literally) and a terrified Boxer but they turned us into a family and we say everyday how much joy they bring to us. Izzy has replaced those sad eyes with the waggiest tail and thinks she’s a 50 pound lap dog. Logan loves to annoy his big sister and learn lots of fun tricks.
