Your Pet's Rescue Story
My husband found Knuckles sitting on top of a garbage can on Christmas Eve 2014. She was a kitten at the time. He was taking a walk with my mother. He and I were visiting family for Christmas in Polk County FL from Southern California. On Christmas Day we went to try to find the cute little kitten in the same general area. We found her jumping in some bushes near a busy intersection! When there were no cars flying by, we chased her. She outran us! But she stopped on the sidewalk in front of an old two story house. We noticed there was a mother cat and more kittens on the porch, but she wouldn't go up to them. We had to leave her there, but we came back the next day and found her near the same home. We decided to take her because she was all on her own. She had a strong odor coming from her. We took her to my mother's house and I took her to the vet the first chance I got. She had scabies, mites and tapeworms. After she was treated, I got her ready for a plane flight to Los Angeles, where we lived at the time. Off we went! My husband named her Knuckles because when we first reached out to her on the sidewalk, she stood up on her hind legs and tried to box with us with her front paws. So Knuckles she was. We are now living back in FL and Knuckles is five years old. She is also the love of our lives. She is the first pet we have ever had in our long marriage...why did we wait so long? I think we were waiting for Knuckles.
