Your Pet's Rescue Story
We were supposed to wait to get dog. We were in the middle of getting our first home all customized to our wants and desires. I had made a laundry list of items of tasks that had to be done before we stepped foot in a shelter because I wanted our home to be our home before we introduced a dog.

We were supposed to wait to get a dog. It has only been 6 months since we had put down our Boston Terrier Brody. He was the first dog in my life I had ever known for an extended period of time, and his death deeply affected me and I wanted to make sure I was ready to take care of another animal.

We were supposed to wait to get a dog. I was going stir crazy after we had spent a week straight doing the finial initial touches to our home, when I found myself viewing available pets at https://petallianceorlando.org. I convinced my partner we should “just go look” as a reward to ourselves for all the hard work we had put into the house.

We were supposed to wait to get a dog. We first saw “Nova” on our initial stroll through the Pet Alliance’s facility. I was more than a little overwhelmed as I saw all the dogs wanting love and attention, but I was drawn to “Nova” because she calmly came up to the fence and said hi, and looked at us with the most loving eyes.

We were supposed to wait to get a dog. We decided to do a meet and greet with her to see if she would be a good fit for our family. She was shy at first but quickly warmed up to both of us. As we said our goodbyes to her we walked away, so we could go look and see if there were any other dogs we wanted to meet. It was in that instant we knew she had to come home with us, as she tried to follow us to the door. I’ll never forget her leaning against me and looking at me with her beautiful eyes.

We were supposed to wait and get a dog. We walked to the front and began to paperwork so we could bring her home. We decided that she needed a fresh start so she now is known as Lola. She is the sweetest girl, and has been exactly what our house needed to be a home.
