Your Pet's Rescue Story
I first saw Gigi, an orange female tabby with matted medium length fur outside a large mall inside a gated area that was being demolished and renovated. The gated area had lots of piles of concrete rubble from the demolition. Also, the building next to where she was hiding was vacant but also in the midst of being knocked down so I knew I had to get her out of there soon. For several weeks, I checked on her, fed her and was working on a plan to trap her as she would not let me get too close to her to just pick her up and bring her home. On certain days, I would find her hiding in the rubble in the hot sun or inside the vacant building in a hole in a wall she had found to get out of the sun. Finally, I had a friend contact a person for me that does TNR on a regular basis and we were able to trap her together one night. The first night I had her, she did nothing but lick my hand and arms and sit in my lap purring as if she was saying "thank you for rescuing me". I debated about getting her adopted out as I already had a couple of cats, but when someone expressed interest in her, I just knew I could not let her go. So now, she is part of our family, a happy and healthy kitty and we just love her to pieces!
