Your Pet's Rescue Story
Rigby was rescued as a kitten from a hoarding situation by a local Florida rescue and then put up for adoption. I was told that he was the runt of the litter and the only boy born in the litter. When I adopted him at just a few months old and brought him home, he was covered in fleas and had digestive issues that we could not figure out at first. The vet mentioned at one time that she was concerned that he could have a fatal disease called Panleukopenia and we weren't sure he would make it which of course was devastating to hear. In time, it turned out that he only had a digestive condition with an overload of bacteria in his gut that would have to work it's way out of his system . With the help of antibiotics and our vet, it took about a year for him to get healthy, but this sweet boy has blossomed into talkative and demanding yet sweet and loving kitty! He follows me everywhere I go and our family loves him so much!
