Your Pet's Rescue Story
We adopted Luna from Pet Alliance 3 years ago. We went there as my husband said “just to look”. But I had seen another dog online that I wanted to look at. While we were getting to know Ted, they asked if they could bring his “cell mate” in the same area so she could get out and we could see how Ted interacted with other dogs and she was surrendered by her owner the day before. Well, this Crazy black dog came barreling into the play area and was jumping all over the worker and running around. She ran up to us and looked so happy. The Pet Alliance Volunteer turned on the hose to try to occupy Leah, the black lab mix, so we could get to know Ted alittle better. Ted was very shy and timid. We have two girls at home and his temperament concerned me alittle. My husband, who didn’t really want another dog, got up and started throwing the ball with Leah. Then he said “We’ll take her.” I was in shock and extremely excited. We brought home this rambunctious girl to surprise our kids. We changed her name to Luna, because she was a lunatic. It was our oldest daughter’s 13th birthday. She cried with excitement when she first met Luna. We feel that it was fate that we went to Pet Alliance that day “just to look”. She has brought so much joy to our lives. She’s done training at Pet Alliance, and our daughter now volunteers at the summer camps there. This picture is of Luna and her crazy cousin Oakley. They are like two peas in a pod and this shows that the color of their fur doesn’t matter.
