Your Pet's Rescue Story
After years of making excuses about how much work dogs are, and how much more time and effort they take to raise and care for, this little guy suddenly appeared on Pet Finder and stole our hearts. After a trip to Ocala to meet him, and one look at those soulful almond shaped eyes, we were hooked. And those comically oversized ears! He was clearly our new house elf, and Dobby seemed the only fitting name for him. He is one amazing Chi-Weenie that's got an incredible rescue to riches story. Born to a chihuahua and a dachshund, he exhibits all the best traits of both. He's loyal and protective, with a big dose of laid back coolness. We socialized him very early, and he has always been adaptable and well-adjusted when meeting new people or staying with friends. And over his ten years, besides being an amazing companion, he's been a world traveler and hobnobbed with the rich and famous. Traveling regularly with his co-owner who works on television shows across the country, he has charmed celebrities like Margaret Cho, David Arquette, Suze Orman, Johnny Weir, Julian Cousteau, Soledad O'Brien, Chuck D, Fifty Cent, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, Gloria Allred, Oliver Stone, and more. And he even did a trans-Atlantic crossing from New York to England aboard the Queen Mary II! But beyond all that, he has been a rich addition to our lives and to the lives of all who meet him. Forever our handsome little house elf, Dobby isn't just a rescue, he is a treasure.
