Your Pet's Rescue Story
Hank was initially rescued by Dr. Jeff Shaffer, after being found wandering the neighborhood. Underweight, and with a bad case of heartworms, he was blessed to have been taken in and given top-notch medical attention. He lived at the clinic for nearly a year before coming to stay with us as his forever home... and he still gets the "rock star" treatment whenever he goes in for routine visits! He has to make the rounds and greet everyone in the back. Typically they know right away when Hank is "in the house", with that distinctive hound-dog howl!

The wander-lust is strong in this boy, and he keeps us on our toes! Hank was the "third wheel" for a few years, joining Bleu and Rascal as part of our pack. Sadly, they both have since crossed the rainbow bridge... but to our surprise Hank has blossomed and seems to really enjoy being an "only child". So that's the way it will stay!

At 12 years old, Hank is still quite active (for a hound!), and enjoys hiking, boating, and exploring new places. When not out on a trail,
you may see him chilling with us at your local dog-friendly restaurant or brewery. If you do, come up and say hello! He's super friendly and loves the attention!
