Your Pet's Rescue Story
Layla was in traffic on Orange Blossom Trail. She was rescued by a friend with a male dog by which she has 2 puppies. I had broken my leg and our rescue chihuahua had just died. My fiancé felt we needed another dog because of my broken leg and being laid up. I reached out to my friend who had posted the puppies and asked her if she wanted a home for a puppy. She was going to keep the pups she said but desperately needed a home for Layla so she would not get pregnant again. We of course took her in and got her spayed, vaccinated ,flea and heart worm meds and micro chipped. She has a wonderful vet Dr. Whaley at Pine Castle Animal Care. As soon as she came to us the pandemic hit so we have gotten used to being together all the time, it’s an adjustment being back to work and having to leave her. She goes everywhere with me that I can take her. We made her a Instagram page Layla.the.ragamuffin and we love our pupventure time. Layla really likes to go for rides and see places and have snacks. Layla loves pup cups and gets one almost everywhere she goes, we love to shop local and one of our favorite places to go was to eat steaks made by our good friend Chef Q Bloom at Quantum Leap Winery. Layla saved my heart it was as broken as my leg. I wasn’t ready and it was very hard for me to get a new dog just so soon after losing our chihuahua ,our precious Weeno was everything ,and losing her was so difficult. However it was very important that I did, it’s the best thing you can do to rescue a dog or in my case with Layla have them rescue you. She has healed my heart and captured the hearts of my friends and many local establishments, Beefy King gave her a free shirt last time she came for spuds.I am so blessed to have my Layla and hope to share her cuteness with the world. She is definitely a spoiled girl as she should be. I wish I could know how she came to be in traffic but I’m so glad she was not harmed and able to find her way to her forever home with us. I honestly don’t know where I would be without her and her unconditional love.
