Your Pet's Rescue Story
Our rescue story is not dramatic. After owning four dogs that I deeply loved and not having one for several years, I was ready for a new friend. It’s simple. I wanted a dog, and Lucky needed a home. Her previous owner raised her for confirmation competitions, but Lucky couldn’t win because she has too many freckles. The owner then decided she wanted to get involved with agility training. Australian Shepherds are exceptionally trainable dogs, but at five years old, Lucky was deemed too old. This owner also began breeding Aussies, and Lucky became surplus and simply aged out of her home. When I heard her story and saw her sweet, precious, and freckly face last November, I knew her new home was with us. We would give her the love and attention she needed and deserved. She adjusted quickly and is now my husband's constant companion and my treasured Lucky charm.
