Your Pet's Rescue Story
Mario was picked up as a stray and brought to the shelter in South Dakota, where we used to live. My husband saw his photo on the shelter's website, and couldn't get Mario out of his thoughts. Usually the little dogs are so quick to be adopted, but for some reason, no one was adopting Mario (Chihuahua mix). So we went to meet him. He was so excited, he bounced off the walls. It was love at first sight - for us and for Mario. He KNEW he was going home to his forever family. My husband carried him out of the shelter and I followed... Watching Mario wag his tail all the way out the door. By the end of the day, he had followed my husband everywhere and acted like he had lived in our home all his life. The original plan was for him to sleep in a kennel the first night, until we saw how he did. But he fell asleep on the bed next to my husband, and he didn't move the entire night. Mario is the most chill little dog you've ever met. He loves food, sunbathing, cuddling on the couch, and going for rides in the car. But most of all, he loves his Dad. He's living his best life, and we're so lucky to be his people.
