Your Pet's Rescue Story
Memorial Day weekend of 2010, I was looking online at a local shelter to adopt a dog. I saw one dog in particular whose name was Maria's Little Helper. When we went to the shelter, he was not there, we thought he was adopted already. But just as we were walking out, they were bringing him back in from his daily walk. As soon as he saw us, he jumped on us and we knew it was meant to be! As we were checking out, this girl who worked there approached us and was crying. Her name was Maria! She named the dog we were adopting. She said we were getting the best dog and glad he was going to a good home. Maria was right, Bud (his new name) was the best dog I ever had. He was a goofball, a true lover boy and my best friend. We nicknamed him "Goat Boy" because he loved eating grass, lol! In 2015 he was diagnosed with liver disease. I did every thing I could for him, medical treatments, special diets, medicine and supplements. In December of 2021 his health declined very quickly. On December 28, 2021 we made the hardest decision of our life. Bud had a "goodbye kiss" (Hershey Kiss) right before he went. I made sure I was looking in his eyes during his final moments, I wanted my eyes to be the last thing he saw. So, that is why I picked this picture, I will always remember this face and those eyes
