Your Pet's Rescue Story
Jessie came into our lives unexpectedly in June 2019. She was rescued from a tree nursery in Texas near where we used to live. My best friend took Jessie to be her own dog, but they quickly learned that they did not want two dogs. Lucky for me, I was going to visit that weekend. I had experience fostering dogs, so my friend asked me to take Jessie home to “foster”. I firmly believe my friend knew that Jessie was meant for me. My husband and I had zero bandwidth for a puppy at that time, but I could not resist a cute black lab mix puppy. After just a few days, we knew Jessie was going to be ours permanently. She struggled with allergy issues for the first year of her life, but we were patient and did everything we could to keep her healthy and happy. Once we conquered her allergies, she was able to live her life as one happy dog. She is now three years old, and she brings so much joy to our lives. My husband and I are extremely grateful to have had Jessie through the pandemic. She was able to get us out of the house for walks and bring happiness to us through those dark days. Jessie enjoys sleeping in her extra-large bean bag, playing with her favorite tennis ball, and meeting new people. We always joke that one day she will run for mayor and win. We are thankful every single day she is in our lives and that we took a chance on a rescue.
