Your Pet's Rescue Story
Dog - My Best Friend Rescue Red
Our Easter basket ended up giving us way more than chocolate and Peeps; we received a new member of the family. Our story begins with our community Easter festival combined with a business fair. I brought my 2 little girls and Aunt with Down syndrome. After the egg hunt we checked out the tents of local business. What luck to have one with free cookies and Pet Rescue by Judy with dogs! All the dogs were little and in crates except for one big black dog out on a leash. This dog was a kid magnet with them hugging and smothering her. I was amazed at how patient and lovable the dog was. My Aunt started to pet her and said, “Lou, look at her”. I crouched down and a black furry head gave me a kiss and cuddled under my arm. I had forgot there were cookies in my purse. My daughters came over and loved up on her too! I thought if I had a dog this would be the one for our family. I chatted with the rescue group and learned the dog was called Sage. That night we told my husband and he was intrigued. My youngest had a speech delay, but wanted the dog so bad she strung a whole sentence together, “I want ssssSage”. That melted his heart. Sight unseen, to him, we arranged to adopt our girl. We changed her names to Corina, they said she didn’t like the name Sage, and almost 10 years later she’s been the perfect fit and we love her dearly!
