Your Pet's Rescue Story
Dog - My Best Friend Rescue Red
Chyna was transferred from Orange County Animal Services to Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando in May of 2016. We were told that she was brought in as a stray with another dog and that their owner had come back to claim them. But once they were told Chyna was heartworm positive they had left her at OCAS.
When I first met Chyna she was terrified and hiding in the back of her kennel. Not only was she heartworm positive she was also missing hair, flea infested and severely underweight. A hot mess!
Since her previous owner had kept her outdoors for most of her life, she did not understand normal dog behavior. She didn't know what a toy was or how to play, wasn't potty trained and was terrified of loud noises/thunderstorms.
But, when I saw Chyna's face I knew I had to help her! I was able to foster her through her heartworm treatments. In those short 3 months of fostering her, I had become a Foster Failure, and adopted Chyna.
For the past two years Chyna's life has been filled with adventure, meeting new friends and being spoiled every second of the day. She is the biggest bundle of joy and the greatest companion I could have ever asked for.
