Casey’s story begins being left at a local overnight Animal Shelter drop box. In the meantime I was missing having a four legged friend around the house, as I had lost my yellow lab eight months earlier. A friend knew that I needed to bring another furry bundle into my life. One day as I was checking my email there was this cute photo of a 6 month yellow lab sent to me by my friend. It was love at first sight. I contacted Houndhaven the nearby rescue to set up to go see Casey in person. Being a typical young lab, the volunteers told me that “she had a lot of energy”. But that didn’t scare me so they took me to go see her. And she was more adorable than her photo. Her hazel eyes surrounded by what the volunteers called permanent eyeliner melted my heart. Casey laid at my feet as I signed the adoption paperwork. Casey and I have the best life together on land and sea. We take long walks and hikes. Go to the beach and have been known to frequent local spots like Quantum leap and area breweries. She has this way of passing on her love to whoever she meets and they all love her back. I don’t know who rescued who, but I am forever grateful that she came into my life.
