Your Pet's Rescue Story
We rescued Apollo from Orange County County Animal Services in 2014. It seems impossible to imagine, but someone surrendered the most perfect cat. We adopted her at the same time we adopted our cat Rocky (who knew you could bogo a best friend?). We subsequently also adopted Adrian and Clubber (you get where we went with our theming).

Apollo is extraordinary. She hates to be held, but LOVES to snuggle. She is currently 10 years old, but we adopted her as a kitten when our 4 kids ranged in age from 14 months to 7 years old. She loves each of them fiercely, alternating between their rooms each night. She cares for each of them when they are sad or sick. She also loves to be spoiled. The automatic treat dispenser is her favorite. She comes running, literally, when she hears the massage gun start and is always ready for a light massage. And we love to spoil her.

She is perfect even in her naughtiness. When she is cranky or feels ignored she is prone to lightly biting her victims to get the requisite attention. Apollo understands that sleeping on top of the leather sofa cushions is strictly forbidden given her expansive girth (lest she render them permanently misshapened) but daily ignores this rule until called out when she understands the command “get down” and promptly gets down. She loves to hunt down the plastic shrink wrap on protein shakes and will gobble it down in a second if you fail to secure it quickly enough.

This picture captures what is not an unusual pose for Apollo. She has an unusual bathing ritual, which results in her frequently sitting somewhat like a human in chairs or propped against pillows. Here, she stopped bathing and was lounging on the bed, contemplating her next move. To me, it looks like a hysterical cat boudoir shot that makes me laugh each time I see it. It perfectly captures the uniqueness and personality of this great little lady we get to share our lives with.
