Your Pet's Rescue Story
Daphne had previously been a stray and at only 2 1/2 years old, had spent her whole life being pregnant, nursing and mistreated at the hands of humans. After a kind woman witnessed such things, she took her in as a temporary foster and Daphne was listed for adoption at Pet Rescue by Judy. Daphne was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disorder after being taken into the foster, which would require ongoing steroid injections and a hypoallergenic diet, so the rescue knew they had a special case on their hands.

At the same time, we were grieving the unexpected passing of our family cat. For months, we did everything we could to try to save our kitty and just when we thought we were over the hurdle, she crossed over the rainbow bridge. Heartbroken and distraught, I read about Daphne's story and immediately knew I needed to meet this little survivor. Her resilience and spunk for life spoke directly to my heart, and within minutes of meeting this beauty, I knew she was the newest addition to our family! After all the hardships this little girl endured early in life, it was amazing to see that all she wanted was unconditional love, and we couldn't wait to be the family to provide her with just that.

Daphne is patient, trusting, affectionate, and appears to just be grateful for the life she was given. Often times she acts more like a dog - as she comes racing to us every time we call her, or lays on her back when she wants you to rub her tummy. She is the most easy-going cat I have ever met, and we are just so thankful to call her our own. Four years later, I can say with 100% certainty that Daphne is one of the greatest blessings to our family and as much as she may feel that we rescued her, I am convinced she saved us too!
