Your Pet's Rescue StoryMy wife under no circumstance would allow, own or have dogs in her house. This was due to a bad childhood experience with a pack of dogs that left visible scars on her thigh. I however, brought Midgett home to foster for a week. The brown and white schtzu was so tiny and helpless. I walked in the house and the schtzu stumbled akwardly through the door behind me. My wife saw the dog and to my amazement, sat down on the floor in her pejamas and allowed the dog to crawl into her lap and curl. She actually stroked the puppy and did not allow me to return the puppy when the fostering time was up. Needless to say, Midgett is now an intriquite member of our family.
Shortly after that, my wife was in my office as some of my employees who work with rescue animals , had brought some to the workplace. My wife, who again would have nothing to do with dogs, saw this tiny black cockapoo, Mendee, and was taken by its temperament. She walked over to the puppy and did something I thought I would never see in my lifetime. She picked the puppy up and the puppy just melted in her arms as if to say, I finally found my companion. From theses two encounters, my wife has gone from a person who wouldn't even visit a home where dogs were present, to owning two rescue animals whom she loves unconditionally. People who know her are still amazed and converse in disbelief at this most unlikely transformation. Her life has been forever changed due to her love of two rescue animals and the two rescues no provide so much joy to my family. My wife's fear of dogs have been positively impacted by the introduction of these two rescues who have become an intrigue part of our family.
