Your Pet's Rescue Story
"Waiting for Dad"
While living in the Uhwarrie National Forest, NC a big Black Lab arrived in bad shape, exhausted, chewed up.The local Vet suggested he was bait, sparing partner, for a dog fighting ring in the mountains. He had health challenges, heart worm infections, but we got him through it. He was officially adopted 4th of July weekend 2014. Freedom day indeed . Free to just be happy and cared for " To love and be loved in return". He was timid but has become a lovable joyful friend .At Christmas time 2014 whilst out in the garden he was barking in concert with another dog . A young shivering black girl lab with icicles hanging from her ears, stood at the fence. She had heard via the "Dog vine that life was good in the George household".I let her in, they got acquainted and Ella Moved in. The Vet checked her skinny fragile body out and pronounced that she was one lucky girl.. we have all bonded into a family., The rules of rescue are" they won't have what would be beautiful offspring." so she was spayed as he had been neutered as well. We all (newly married to a 20 yearlong friend) moved to a Circa 1900 historic SC home to a happy calm lifestyle, , They need to be renamed Shadow and his shadow-ette, they just follow us around.Loving, playful and most importantly loyal. Always protecting their home. We have lovefests each night rolling around the foyer carpet enjoying a nice fire in the cold months . The house has several fireplaces and we resemble a lot of the Rockwell type photographs " book end Labs a fire, while Dad enjoys a glass of wine. Life is great with Rescued Pups.
