Your Pet's Rescue Story
Molly was dumped in our neighborhood. At the time my wife was going to work while it was still dark, and she'd give Molly a treat so that she wouldn't accidentally run over her. We had talked about bringing her in, but hadn't yet. I happened to be in my home office, which faces the street, and saw her being hauled away by Animal Control. I went out, told the officer I'd take her, and once she cleared it with her office she let me.
(At the time, I believe there was a parvo outbreak at the kennel, and animals were being killed as soon as they were brought in.)
Molly knew who had saved her, and she was always my girl. A beautiful, smart, energetic border collie/chow. She died almost three years ago, ten years to the day that I saved her. And I miss her every day.
