I've been owned by Maggie ever since Petfinder.com brought this three-legged wonder cat into my life ten years ago. I like to say she is the only successful internet match I've ever had. Before I adopter her, she'd been caught in a leghold trap - the kind used to kill animals for fur coats - and lost a limb to that barbaric contraption. I named her after Margaret Sanger, the early 20th century Women's Rights crusader, with whom Maggie shares an indomitable spirit and sense of adventure. Her favorite pastime is walking across my forehead at 4 a.m.
