My husband and I adopted Ernie (5 year old, male) the day we got back from our honeymoon in 2022. We knew we wanted a dog and had our hearts set on a newfy. As we were evaluating our options for adoption, the perfect boy was dropped in our lap via a friend's family member who was no longer able to care for him. Ernie has been the biggest cuddle bug, softest pillow, and best fire truck impersonator ever since!

Early this year we began talking about expanding our family and getting Ernie a younger sibling and playmate. That is how we came to adopt Otto (1.5 year old, male). Otto came from a rescue in Ohio where he had been surrendered by his family. He attached to us immediately and we to him!

It did not take long for a true sibling relationship to develop. Both boys LOVE having someone their size to rough house with, though it does regularly sound like two bears fighting in our back yard while they do. In true little brother form, Otto always seems to lay just a couple inches from whatever spot Ernie chooses.

We love our boys and wouldn't trade the drool, dog fur, or mournful begging eyes for anything!!
