Meriwether, age 6, and Hugo, age 4, are two brothers and besties living it up in Metro Atlanta. Guard dogs they are not, but they make a fine welcome crew and snuggle brigade all the same.

Mer for short, our brown boy is the sweetest and most tolerant nanny Newf to exist. He loves little humans (and all of the crumbs they drop). As long as they don't interrupt his morning nap...or his afternoon nap...or his evening nap, then he's happy to play. He is named after Meriwether Lewis, who took his loyal Newfie with him on the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Mer is addicted to swimming, and insists on "rescuing" any humans in the water, whether they want to be rescued or not.

Hugo has little brother energy and is always just a little jealous of anyone else getting attention. He likes to flop down and melt into the floor when he's tired--especially if it's a nice, cool tile floor. He is named Hugo because he was the biggest puppy in the litter and was HUGE. His middle name is Mungo, but don't tell him we told you that. Our cookies and cream man loves grown-up humans but is still a little wary of the littler ones (he thought he was supposed to be the baby?). He likes swimming, but only if big brother Mer gets in first.

These are our family's first Newfs, but we are now addicted and couldn't imagine anything else. Truly loving, gentle giants, our sweet boys make us smile and laugh at every turn. It's a Newfie's world and we're just living in it!
