Freya’s sire was a pure-bred Newfoundland and her dame was a pure-bred Great Pyrenees. She is 5 years old and loves to run the trails and hills on our 10-acre property. She does her job as a guardian, even barking away the black bears that roam through looking for food. But she is very smart about it by keeping a safe distance in barking forward then backing away. She understands to be particularly careful when there are cubs involved. She is a loving family dog and hangs out on the sofa when we are watching tv in the evening. She loves to take people by the hand and direct them to where she wants them, which is very disconcerting to someone who has never met her before!
