National Newfoundland Rescue Inc., a 501c-3 Public Charity, was founded by a group of Newfoundland Rescue volunteers with a combined total of over 60 years of rescue experience. After working with breed club and other rescues for many years, it became apparent that there were still holes in the rescue community that needed to be filled, primarily in the areas where they don’t have a local Breed Club Rescue, or in cases where there is a Newfoundland Mix in need (most of the regional clubs only accept purebred Newfoundlands). With this in mind, National Newfoundland Rescue was born!
Since our inception in January of 2023, NNR has Rescued approximately 400 Newfoundland and Newfoundland mixes throughout the US. We are a foster based Rescue and have no facility, so 100% of our donations go directly to the care of our dogs. We currently have a compassionate group of approximately 100 volunteers across the country working together to better the lives of the dogs that come into our care. Each and every one of our dogs are completely vetted once they arrive. The average cost of care per dog is $1000.00. Our adoption fees certainly do help, but they are no where near what it takes to keep our rescue efforts going, as many arrive with medical issues that reach far beyond vaccinations and spay/neuter.
Fundraisers, such as this photo contest, as well as other events and private donations, along with our 100% Volunteer group of Newfie lovers, is what has made NNR such a success.
Your participation in this fundraiser will help us continue to improve and save the lives of Newfoundlands by providing quality care and compassion through adoption and education throughout the US.
