My name is Takoda, which is Sioux for “friend to everyone.” Two years ago, I was found in a ditch by a police officer after being shot by a shotgun in Georgia. I had surgery to repair my shattered leg and a family over 800 miles away heard by story, and I found my forever home. My road to recovery has been long. But, despite the fracture needing surgery, and then a revision surgery a year later to keep my leg, and my heartworm, my name perfectly describes my personality. Friend to all.
