Dog's Bio
Luke was adopted out of foster care from a wonderful woman in KY. when he was 8 months old. A few years back my explorer cat was outside at night (not allowed) and did not come home when called which was highly unusual. It was cold night in December in New England; very windy & blustery with a big moon. I got a sickening feeling as I could hear the coyote pack loudly in the woods that surround our homes. I put out flyers, went door to door in my rural community and still no cat. The days went by and Luke hopped into bed to comfort me but 8 days after my cat had gone missing and crying every night..... as it was getting dark one evening he pulled me, as we trudged through the woods and snow. We came to a home we had already visited but no one was home. There were no tracks of any kind in the snow. We went up a long steep staircase in the back of the home and in the roof/gutter area heard a sound of an animal. At first, I thought it must be a squirrel or some other wild animal trapped in a small area until I got the glimpse of the pink nose. It was my Rupert who rejoiced becoming very vocal with happiness seeing us. He was trapped in the second level of their garage; we notified police as we were concerned the home occupants were out of town for the holiday season but some hours later they arrived to their house and Rupert came home. Luke's amazing ability found Rupert after 8 days away from home and Rupert is forever his best friend including going on walks with him and my other dog. Luke is truly a Hero!
