We adopted Ira 6 years ago from the Humane Society of Fort Worth. She and her sister had been abandoned and left in a backyard after a family moved. She was filthy, emaciated, traumatized, demoralized, and terrified of everything. In a photo, she cowered in the corner of her cage and I fell in love with her before even meeting her. We brought her home at 8 months weighing 50 pounds, and she is now almost 7 years old and weighs 150 pounds. Ira is magnificent! Her beauty stops traffic. She is so sweet and loving. We adore our Ira.
