Tell us why your pet is the best ambassador for the North Country Animal League's Rescue Brew Beer (from your pet’s perspective)Hailing from outside Houston, Texas, I, like many other young Texans grew up with NFL aspirations. After an accelerated ascension through to high school football, I was a standout defensive end regularly drawing a crowd speckled with scouts.
With unparalleled athleticism and a drive to chase the pigskin never before seen in Texas football, I expected to be a five-star recruit destined for a national championship and Super Bowl beyond. But one trait confounded even the most seasoned coaches - I refused to make a tackle. I had an NFL combine record 40 yard dash (2.8 seconds), an impressive vertical jump, and could make quick work of the 3 cone drill (unfortunately my combine interviews were unintelligible).
But every time I approached the quarterback, I never had the heart to take him down. I would jump for the ball, chase it when thrown, and could beat any lineman around the end, but I couldn't breach my own friendly barrier. So in November 2025, at just 5 months old, they shipped me off to football-less Vermont to endure the cold winters.
Nevertheless I persevered. I soon excelled at cross country skiing despite my fear of poles, transitioned my on-ball skills to tennis, and through springtime I've begun a quest to dig to China, even though I can neither speak nor understand Mandarin (still working on English). While I truly miss my Texas stardom, I've found countless ways to excel in my new home. Rumor has it I may even try relaxing this summer.
What better fit to represent NCAL than this five-star fido with a need for speed and a s***-eating grin? :)
