Your Pet's Story or Bio
We adopted Poppy (shown right) directly from the owner when she was 4 1/2 yrs.old: fat, insecure, and had never had been off property for exercise or in a car...her pads were pink as a puppy's. She was separated from her Weimaraner mom, dad and brother that day and headed in a panic to her new life. She arrived home at 1pm in the afternoon and she didn't step foot in the house til about 5:30 the next morning after tirelessly waiting outside for her family to come pick her up while my other Weimaraner, Emma, and I slept on the kitchen floor waiting for her to come in.

Within 2 days she had imprinted on me and would not leave my side.
Fast forward 10 years to her 15th birthday and she had a severe neuropathy, had difficulty standing and walking most of the day but still followed me tirelessly and walked at least 1/4 mile around the Rose Bowl every morning barking with enthusiasm to get to the park.

I will always admire her courage and devotion and her enthusiastic love of cookies and mommy. Thank you NCWR for this special gift to our lives.
