Your Dog's Story or Bio
Penny was adopted on July 22, 2005 from the Trumbull, CT Animal Shelter. My family rescued her as a senior basset. She was my best friend and bonded right away with everyone. Walks were especially long as she liked to greet everyone. She was nicknamed the deputy mayor of Walnut Beach for her lovable personality. She was very playful and loved belly rubs. I have fond memories of her darting around the living room and dining room with her toys. She liked to steal my socks and carry them around. :) She especially loved visiting my grandmother, following her around underfoot in the kitchen where she would get lots of treats. Sadly she was diagnosed with lymphoma in March of 2011 and lost her courageous battle on Mother's Day weekend in May 2011. I still miss her greatly and she inspires me to help other dogs in need.
