Belle was found on the side of the road in Virginia on December 23, 2012. She was probably hit or thrown from a vehicle. She had a fractured spine and pelvis... she was about 4 months old. No one in the affluent neighborhood where she was found knew this puppy and she was brought to Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA and received the urgent medical care she needed and was placed in a loving foster home to heal from her surgery. We saw "Bella" on pet finders and I was so drawn to her soulful eyes and something about her reminded me of our beloved Basset Hound Dharma who passed away at 16 years old the previous year. Belle is a sweet old-fashioned dog who loves us unconditionally and we are so blessed to have her in our lives.
