Adoption or foster story.
Originally named Eleanor, Olive was adopted from Neonatal Kitten Rescue in March, 2020. She turned one year old on August 27. She was adopted once before, and I was informed that her previous owner brought her back to the rescue shortly after. It made me very sad to learn that. I couldn’t imagine thinking I finally had a family and home only to be returned like clothes that don’t fit. She was very timid when I first met her; I think she was cautiously optimistic because of her prior adoption experience. On the drive home, she just kept gratefully staring up at me with her big, green eyes, and that’s when I decided to name her Olive. She quickly warmed up to me and her new home and is now the best friend I’ve ever had. She is the sweetest, and adopting her is the best decision I’ve ever made.
