About Us
For over 20 years, the Northeast Great Pyr Rescue's 7 state all-volunteer group has remained focused on fulfilling its mission of: (1) rescuing and rehoming Great Pyrenees that are lost, abandoned, neglected, surrendered or have special needs, (2) educating people about the breed, proper dog selection and the importance of spaying and neutering, and (3) providing consultation and assistance to owners who may be facing challenges with their Prys and connecting them with experienced breeders, owners, veterinarians and rehabilitation and/or behavior specialists who understand and can help resolve issues of concern.
To date, well over 1,000 Great Pyrenees have been rescued and re-homed by NEPR and countless volunteer hours spent on other activities critical to NEPR's success and longevity. Regardless of how these loving, loyal and intelligent Pyrs make their way to NEPR, we have taken them in with our hearts wide open. We remain committed to doing so as long as we have the resources and the non-paid volunteers, Board members and Advisors alongside us. For NEPR, the dog comes first. Always.
NEPR is a registered 401(c)(3) (not-for-profit) and all net proceeds collected from the submission of photos, voting, sponsorships and sale of calendars will allow us to continue to fulfill our ongoing mission.
