A little about me...
Chewy’s former Dad found him in the backyard of a friend of a friend, so neglected that he looked just like his namesake, Chewbacca. He said he wasn’t leaving without Chewy and, fortunately, the two walked away. Fast forward a few years and he lost his Mom and his two doggy siblings, and his Dad was working over 250 miles away so Chewy was in need of a long term dogsitter. Since I was a known dogsitter, Chewy came to me. He was not neutered and was known as the neighborhood dog park “humper”. He didn’t really even seem to enjoy the park; it was as if the humping was his job and he HAD to do it. Since he wasn’t mine, there was nothing I could do about it even though neutering was the law. Fortunately Chewy only humped males so we could still go to the park without worrying about getting a female pregnant. It was still annoying to other owners, though, and embarrassing to me. Two months later, his Dad gave me the opportunity to adopt Chewy and obviously I jumped at it. Soon after, Chewy was neutered and became a very laid-back member of the dog park and has not humped anyone since! We’re both finally able to enjoy being at the dog park and everyone there now loves Chewy!
