Alex was our NEBHR “foster failure”. From day 1, we knew without question Alex picked us as his forever home. Alex, a senior hound, was found abandoned in a used car lot in Puerto Rico. While he had clearly once been loved, he had been through a lot during abandonment; X-rays showed he had likely been hit by a car and never treated. His hips healed broken and surgery wouldn’t likely improve his mobility. Alex was the most loving, sweetest, best boy we could’ve asked for. He was the missing piece in our puzzle. Alex ADORED pizza, stealing empty toilet paper rolls, and snuggling his mom every night.

Despite our best efforts, Alex’s age and ailments caught up to him and he crossed the rainbow bridge in late June. We are still heartbroken but would like to honor Alex by earning him a month in this year’s calendar!
