Pet's Story
Franklin is a Axolotl (Mexican salamander), or "water-dog". My son raised Franklin from pinky size, to over a foot long. Franklin's sister Desdemona, is an albino Axolotl, and they are 2 years old. They share a 40 gallon tank and eat bloodworms and feeder fish. They can be picked-up and held inside their tank and spend time lying on large rock and hiding in kelp grass. Axolotls are found in canals in Mexican City and are an endangered species, very rare and hard to maintain.
