My dog is the coolest because...
Chip might be the only dog I know who can be a full on couch potato love bug and a complete menace to society within the same hour.

Inside the house, he is pure mush. He wants to be as close to his people as humanly possible at all times. He’s the dog that somehow takes up an entire couch while also trying to crawl into your lap. He’s calm, sweet, and honestly just wants to be loved. He does get a little ornery if he doesn't get his morning cig (chew treat).

Then we go outside.

Outside Chip chooses chaos. His favorite hobby is pulling out my rose bushes and, on more than one occasion, eating the entire plant like it personally offended him. Roots, dirt, everything. I’ll look away for five minutes and come back to what used to be landscaping and is now just gone. It’s hard to even be mad because he looks so proud of himself, like he’s done a really important job for the household.

That’s kind of why people love him though. He’s not trying to be bad. He’s just being Chip. He’s curious, stubborn, a little naughty, and fully committed to whatever ridiculous thing he’s decided to do in that moment. He keeps life interesting. You never quite know what you’re going to get, other than a lot of laughs and probably some damage to the yard.

He also somehow has a fan base. People ask about him. They laugh about his latest “incident.” They root for him even when he’s clearly the problem. I think it’s because he’s just unapologetically himself. No filter, no agenda, just vibes and poor choices.

So yeah, Chip is the coolest. Even if my rose bushes strongly disagree.
