My dog is the coolest because...
Kimana come from Texas and didn't have the best start to her life. She was found as a stray that some people called in as "scary". When she was caught, it was clear she had just had a litter of puppies, she was heartworm positive, and she had a partial back leg amputation that veterinarians believe was done by someone at home (without actual medical care).

Despite all of this, Kiki never stopped smiling 😊 she received a proper left hind leg amputation, completed heartworm treatment, was spayed, and then made her way to me in Wisconsin!

She completed physical therapy with underwater treadmill and massage, for started on pain medicine and joint supplements and lost some weight.

Since she arrived 4 years ago, she had been an ambassador for her breed, helped children with disabilities feel less "different", taught middle and high school kids about the importance of spraying/neutering and preventative care, and asked for at least a million belly rubs 💛

Kiki is a true land Hippo and loves to lounge around, go for walks in her stroller, and sunbathe any chance she gets. She still smiles all the time and loves every person she meets!
